Design Studio 1: Creative Problem Solving
The course will be divided into two parts where each part will consist of a minor project and a major project. These will be accomplished by using different ways of generating ideas combined with some themes and concepts to come up with original designs. They will not be limited with their inexperience in putting garments together and should be liberated by using a multitude of materials instead.

Basic Illustration
During this course, students will be introduced to drawing a woman’s figure in the fashion sense and how the body is manipulated to show movement. We will go over features such as the face, muscles, the feet and the hands. The drawing of garments will also be introduced in this course.

Fashion Merchandising & Buying
This course focuses on all activities in the merchandising cycle. Having the right merchandise available in the proper quantities at the right time, place, price, and quality, to meet customer satisfaction at a profit will be the primary goal of the course. It also introduces concepts by which retailers create special store-brand merchandise for targeted customer segments. This course introduces basic concepts, principles and techniques used by retail buyers as they complete their day-to-day duties and responsibilities. A step-by-step approach is presented for buying tasks that give participants the opportunity to develop buying skills with a marketing orientation.

Pattern Making and Sewing 1
Students will learn how to develop basic blocks based on given measurements or their own sizing. They will learn how to transfer measurements to flat patterns and develop basic skills in the use of the sewing machine to gain confidence in basic sewing and construction techniques.

This course is designed to provide students with a keen understanding of the various clothing and fashion styles throughout history, summarizing the way people have dressed from ancient to modern times.

Fashion Trends
This course aims to teach the basic skills in spotting and forecasting trends. It will tackle the various trends throughout fashion history and the social factors that helped shape it. This course also involves the study of emerging trends particularly in fashion, culture and lifestyle. It seeks to develop the student’s keen eye and astute mind in order to be a good observer of current and upcoming trends.

Fashion Product Development
In this 18-week course, the process of product development will be studied; from research, production, all the way to distribution. Students will practice market and trend research working towards a design and marketing project for a new product range for a specific market.

Makeup Techniques
This comprehensive course is focused on the fundamentals of make-up application. The course will cover foundational theories, understanding how make-up products and tools work, as well as aspects of make-up application, including how to create make up looks for print, live shows, television, and film formats.

Fashion Photography
Throughout the course, participants will learn fundamentals of conceptualizing ideas for digital fashion photography, which will help them develop knowledge in the proper use of lighting, composition and story-driven photographs. They will do so while efficiently learning and understanding fashion imagery through hands-on training and instructor-led presentations.

Fashion Styling
This introductory course consists of lectures following the course outline in the first half and field activities on the remaining half. The course covers will help students discover and establish their very own fashion philosophy, and will tackle theories and facts associated to the practice of fashion styling. Exposure to the process by which mood boards are created and implemented will also be vital parts to sharpen the students’ skills in styling. Familiarization trips include mannequin styling and styling according to specific markets. Specialists in field of fashion styling, brand marketing, and TV/movie styling are also invited to broaden the students’ perspective of the industry. Course finals include creation of a magazine editorial, which most practicing fashion stylists specialize in.
